Gay Web Magazine introduces first gay gossip, news and culture iPhone Widget

San Francisco - TheSword.com (www.thesword.com) announced a new addition to its growing community today. The lifestyle news site, which operates within the NakedSword Network (www.NakedSword.com), has created an iPhone widget designed to keep TheSword's enthusiasts and gay-media connoisseurs in the loop at all times, all at the simple touch of a button.

Designed to keep readers informed on the go, TheSword's widget features a redesigned version of the site, allowing users to read the top 20 headlines and search for their favorite stories. It will be consistently updated with the newest stories as TheSword.com releases them. TheSword's readers will be able to "peruse while they cruise," according to managing editor Jay Barman. "iPhones are huge in the gay community, so we're super excited to be offering this easy one-click Sword widget for everyone to check out new Sword content while they're waiting for the train or sitting bored in a bar."

The widget, which is easily accessible at www.thesword.com/iphone , will display headlines and abstracts, though users can easily read more by selecting the "read more" option. By navigating to www.thesword.com/iphone from an iPhone's browser, users simply click the + symbol and add a Sword widget to their iPhone's home screen. Once enabled, all the edgiest gay news stories will be but a few taps away.

"I always thought a widget was some sort of gardening tool," said CEO Tim Valenti, "but now I am checking mine all the time! I am astounded by how easy this is to use and am so happy that our readers can stay aware and utilize TheSword to its fullest potential."

TheSword.com's widget is currently available for iPhone users who download the application.
